Aikido in Lund since 1983

Lunds Aikidoklubb was founded in 1983 by Anders Hytter. In the same year, Jonas Palm took his first steps on the tatami – a journey that would soon make him one of the club’s most important drivers. In 1985, he began instruction, and between 1987 and 2001 he shared responsibility as the principal instructor with Stina Deurell. Since 2001, Jonas has been the sole principal teacher with the support of experienced students (sempais) who also lead classes.
In the early years, the club trained in various temporary locations, but in 1994 we finally established our own dojo at Norra Fäladen – a milestone in the club’s development. In 2002, we took the next step and moved to our current dojo at Winstrupsgatan 1, in the heart of Lund. The central location makes the dojo easily accessible for both residents of the city and commuters.
